Our fleet includes top-of-the-line aircraft, including the renowned Bell 206 and Bell 407 models, widely valued for their reliability, maneuverability and ability to operate in demanding conditions. These aircraft are ideal for aeromedical evacuation missions, rescues in hard-to-reach areas and rapid patient transfers.
We are proud to be a Bell-certified workshop, which allows us to maintain our aircraft under the highest maintenance and safety standards. This recognition guarantees that each of our helicopters is subject to rigorous quality controls and meets the manufacturer’s specifications, ensuring optimal performance in each operation.

Medical staff
At WINGS OF LIFE, we have a team of highly trained doctors, nurses and paramedics certified in aeromedicine, a subspecialty of aerospace medicine. Our professionals fully understand the challenges that an air environment can present for a critical patient, such as variations in altitude and atmospheric pressure, always ensuring specialized and safe care.
In addition to our onboard team, we have a network of medical specialists in various areas of medicine, which allows us to offer a comprehensive approach to each patient. Depending on the medical condition and specific needs, we coordinate with specialists in cardiology, neurology, traumatology, among other areas, ensuring that the patient receives the appropriate care from the moment of transfer to their final destination. This collaboration with medical experts ensures that each case is addressed in a personalized manner and with the utmost rigor, providing peace of mind and confidence to our clients.

Geographic Coverage
At WINGS OF LIFE, we offer strategic geographic coverage in Costa Rica, operating from two key bases. Our main base is located at the Tobías Bolaños Palma International Airport, located in San José, which allows us to respond to emergencies quickly and efficiently in the capital and surrounding areas. In addition, we have a second base in Guardia, Liberia, Guanacaste, which ideally positions us to provide our services along the North Pacific coastal region, where much of the country’s tourism and business development is concentrated.
These bases allow us to respond quickly anywhere in the country, ensuring that our aeromedical evacuation services, critical care, and specialized transportation reach urban and remote areas with the same efficiency. Thanks to our geographic coverage, we can ensure that no matter where the patient is, our team will be ready to intervene and offer the necessary emergency medical care.
Response times
At WINGS OF LIFE, we are committed to providing fast and efficient service. From our main base at Tobías Bolaños Palma International Airport, San José, our response times are, on average, 2 hours, depending on the patient’s location and operating conditions.
At our base in Guardia, Liberia, Guanacaste, where proximity to tourist and business areas is critical, our response times are even faster, averaging less than 1 hour. This allows us to intervene almost immediately in emergency situations in that key region of the country.
While we are prepared to mobilize quickly, some external factors, such as permits or necessary paperwork, may influence the total service activation time. However, our internal procedures are optimized to ensure that, from the moment the request is received, our team is ready to take off as soon as possible, minimizing any delays. WINGS OF LIFE guarantees maximum efficiency in air medical response, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the patient.
